N MOS Transistor (3 Terminal)

Block Selection Tree: Circuit ElementsSemiconductorN MOS Transistor (3 Terminal)

This type of block represents an n-channel Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET).  This model represents a three-pin N MOS, where the MOSFET substrate terminal (bulk) is connected to its source.

The characteristics of the N MOS depend on the chosen model. See the vendor's web page for more details about a specific N MOS model.

When adding a NMOS transistor into the device library, the shown numbering is the pin order in a spice .subcircuit/.model statement.

The block is characterized by the properties listed below. To modify the values, use the Block Properties – Parameters dialog box.

Channel Length

Length of the conducting channel beneath the gate.

Channel Width

Width of the conducting channel beneath the gate.

Initial State

State can be ON or OFF. It initializes the device for the calculation of the DC bias solution.

Note that these parameters do only appear, if the transistor has been imported as a .model statement and not as a general subcircuit.
