Verilog-AMS Co-simulation
ADS Update 3 allows you to do true mixed-signal simulations of high-speed digital boards by co-simulating with Verilog-AMS based SERDES models.
Now you can perform an end-to-end analysis of serial links examining your design with NCSim&tm; and ModelSim&tm; and high-frequency SPICE simulators in ADS. This gives SI designers the ability to use ADS transient/convolution, EM and Ptolemy simulators in a co-simulation with digital simulators, providing more insight into complex designs.
W-Element Model
The W-element model allows you to use RLGC files in an ADS time- or frequency-domain simulation. It provides a scalable-length transmission line model and accurate modeling of frequency-dependent loss in the time-domain. This means designers who have developed custom transmission line models represented by frequency-dependent RLGC matrices can now use this IP directly in ADS.
Stateye Simulation Capability
Stateye simulation capability allows you to make fast Bit Error Rate predictions. Stateye simulation calculates the worst case BER performance using only a single impulse or step response. This means you can now simulate this key system metric in a fraction of the time compared to simulating millions of bits.
Signal Studio File Reader
The Signal Studio file reader supports reading Signal Studio (.wfm) data files directly into an Analog/RF schematic, eliminating the need to co-simulate with Ptolemy. Signal Studio is a separate Agilent software application that produces fully-coded standards-compliant wireless signals, such as WLAN, WiMAX, 3GPP, WCDMA, UWB, etc.
Enhanced WiMax and 3GPP Libraries
The 3GPP LTE Wireless Library (E8895) now includes support for TDD transmission, an updated Resource Block, P-SCH, S-SCH, P-BCH and uplink coded BER.
New uplink coding and decoding now supports uplink coded BER simulations to allow you to evaluate your uplink receiver design performance against key metric.
The Mobile WiMAX Wireless Library (E8869) now includes the new Mobile WiMAX MIMO channel model as well as updated system measurements using this model.
