Project File Directory

The following considerations apply to the project file and project directory.

• Ansoft tools write results to a subdirectory in the Ansoft project file directory.

• The directory containing the project file (project directory) must be accessible to all cluster hosts that run Ansoft jobs.

• The user account for a submitted HPC job must have permission to read, create, and modify files in the project directory and its subdirectories.

• The pathname of the project file must be accessible to all cluster hosts using the same path name, which is generally expressed as a UNC pathname.

Example:

The project file resides on the user's workstation with hostname user1_PC in the directory “C:\user1\projects\new\project1.designer”. The directory “C:\user1\projects” is shared with sharename projects.

Correct

When submitting the job, you should use the following pathname to specify the project file:

\\user1_PC\projects\new\project1.Designer

Incorrect

If a local pathname such as the following is used, the cluster hosts will not be able to find the user's project on the workstation user1_PC:

user1_PC: ' C:\user1\projects\new\project1.Designer'
