Windows HPC Integration > Microsoft WIndows® HPC Server 2008The following sections describe the general guidelines for submiting Ansoft jobs and the use of the File and Project directories with the Windows HPC Scheduler.
General Guidelines for Submitting Ansoft Jobs A Job submitted to the Windows HPC Cluster is defined by its Job properties, Task List, and Task properties. The Job Priority, resource requirements, node preferences, and additional information comes from the Job properties. In the case of Ansoft jobs, the Task List consists of a single task. Properties of this task specify a command line that runs Ansoft Desktop in non-graphical mode to perform an analysis of an Ansoft project.
Ansoft Project File and Project Directory for use with Windows HPC Scheduler The user account for the job must have read/write permission in the the project directory, as Ansoft tools write results to a subdirectory beneath the Project Directory containing the job’s project file. The Project Directory must be accessible to all cluster hosts that run Ansoft jobs. The pathname of the project file must be accessible to all cluster hosts using the same path name, which is generally expressed as a UNC pathname.
Example: The project file resides on the user’s workstation (with hostname user1_PC) in the following directory: C:\user1\projects\new\project1.designer additionally, the directory “C:\user1\projects” must be shared with sharename projects.
Correct When submitting the job, use the following pathname to specify the project file: \\user1_PC\projects\new\project1.designer
Incorrect If a local pathname is used, the cluster hosts will not be able to find the user’s project on the workstation: user1_PC: ' C:\user1\projects\new\project1.designer '
