Local Coordinate System Properties

Modeling: WCSLocal WCS Local Coordinate System Properties...

In this dialog box you may specify the parameters (origin and orientation) of the local coordinate system. Some more measurements (distance, angle) are also shown

Origin: X/Y/Z

Specify valid expressions for the origin of the local coordinate system in fixed global coordinates.

Normal: X/Y/Z

Specify valid expressions for the components of a vector in global coordinates. The w-Axis of the local coordinate system will be aligned parallel to this vector.

U-Vector: X/Y/Z

Specify valid expressions for the components of a vector in global coordinates. In combination with the alignment of the w-Axis (Normal) you may specify the direction into which the u-Axis of the local coordinate system will be oriented. Please note that the Normal and U-Vector settings must not describe parallel vectors.

Distance local to global origin

This text field shows you the distance of the local origin to the global origin.

Angle between X and U / Y and V / Z and W axes

These three text fields indicate the angle in degrees between the axes of the local coordinate system to the corresponding axes of the global coordinate system.

OK

Press this button to store the settings of the local coordinate system. When the local coordinate system is active, the orientation of the drawing plane will be updated immediately.

Cancel

Closes this dialog box without performing any further action.

Preview

Shows/updates the preview of the local coordinate system. Also updates the distance and angle information.
