A Spectral Lines task has been set up for a microstrip frequency tripler. It has been designed to generate output power around 37.5GHz Consequently, the input source is at 12.5GHz. Seven Harmonics are taken into account in the simulation.
A nonlinear FET device is used for amplification .It is characterised by a Materka FET model, which is incorporated into a DS block. As building blocks, it uses two diodes to characterise the gate-source and gate-drain junctions, a parasitic network to describe package effect, and a SPICE, nonlinear voltage-controlled current source to model the nonlinear drain current. The compact output filter involves irregular coupled line blocks and has been designed to suppress the first and second harmonic, effectively.
