Conductor frame
Conductivity: Setting for the conductivity of individual wires, or conductors, of the material.
Thickness: Setting for the thickness of the conductor. The thickness of the conductor is the dimension normal to the layer of material. For expanded foil (diamond-shaped holes), the thickness is that of the original material.
Width: Setting for the width of the conductor. The width of the conductor is the dimension in the plane of the layer of material. For expanded foil (diamond-shaped holes) width is the space between slits before expansion.
Mesh properties frame
This section allows you to specify geometrical properties of the wire mesh holes.
Hole shape: Here you select the shape of the opening. Diamond, rectangular aligned, rectangular staggered, circular or whichever of these best approximates the actual hole shape.
Holes per unit length X dir: Setting for number of holes in the X direction.
Holes per unit length Y dir: Setting for number of holes in the Y direction.
If hole shape is diamond or rectangular staggered or number of holes in X and Y direction are different, wire mesh will be modeled as anisotropic. For anisotropic wire meshes, these X and Y directions then map to the U and V vectors of a solid coordinate system attached to the object.
