System Simulator > Frequency Domain OverviewFrequency domain analysis is applicable only to electrical systems comprised of linear/nonlinear electrical elements — elements that may be described by S-parameters. Analysis may be single-tone bandpass , which includes the sweep and budget analyses domains, or multi-tone bandpass, which includes the mixer spurs and multi-tone analyses domains. Measurements obtained from analysis are applicable to both linear and nonlinear electrical systems. Performance during single-tone and swept single-tone analysis may be examined for the following: Stability Frequency Group delay Output power Dynamic range Mixer spurious Voltages at all ports Voltage standing wave ratio Noise parameters (NF, SNR, NPWR) Nonlinear figures of merit (OIP3, P1dB, Psat) Linear parameters (S, Y, Z, H, G, and ABCD) All parameters listed above are defined where appropriate.
